Rockford Area Economic Development Council: The role of the Rockford Area Economic Development Council (RAEDC) is to collaborate with regional stakeholders to cultivate opportunities for primary job growth that increase the economic well-being of our region. The RAEDC markets the region to attract new capital investment, while assisting existing business with resources for sustainable growth.
Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau: RACVB is a private, non-profit organization established in 1984 to promote and champion efforts to make the Rockford Region an overnight visitor destination. The mission of RACVB is to achieve pre-eminent destination stature for the Rockford Region.
Rockford Park District - The Rockford Park District is the second largest park and recreation system in Illinois. The Rockford Park District has three times been awarded the prestigious National Gold Medal for excellence in parks and recreation management, and is a Distinguished Agency, professionally accredited for high standards and superior services. The District has 179 parks and facilities, and 4,953 acres of land.
Rockford Chamber of Commerce: The Rockford Chamber of Commerce delivers benefit to the community by leading in the promotion of economic growth, advocating for the interests of business, and providing service and educational opportunities that help our members grow.
Rockford Public Schools: Rockford Public Schools focuses on college and career readiness for its 28,700 students. It is among the largest school districts in Illinois and the second-largest employer in the Rockford region, with approximately 4,700 full and part-time employees. RPS 205 strives to be the first choice for all families.
United Way of Rock River Valley: United Way of Rock River Valley advances the common good in Winnebago and Ogle counties, creating opportunities for a better life by focusing on education, income, and health. United Way unites people and organizations that bring the passion, expertise, and resources needed to get things done. LIVE UNITED® is a call to action for everyone to become a part of the change.
Region 1 Planning Council: Region 1 Planning Council (RPC) is a special-purpose, regional government agency providing cross-jurisdictional, government-to-government collaborative planning across Northern Illinois. The regional planning model provides an efficient means to promoting a well-informed, comprehensive dialogue that holistically addresses regional issues by fulfilling the needs of government entities for long-range planning, securing funding, and analyzing and providing data in support of regional projects and initiatives.
The Workforce Connection: The Workforce Connection, the service delivery arm of the Northern Illinois Workforce Alliance, is a partnership of state and federally funded employment and training programs, economic development agencies and educational entities committed to providing a workforce that meets the needs of our business community, now and in the future.
Great Neighborhoods: The Great Neighborhoods project engages neighborhoods to focus on the assets that they have and to begin mapping them. Every neighborhood has attributes that make it a Great Neighborhood; things that make it great, unique, and desirable. Every neighborhood also has some challenges. Transform Rockford wants to help recognize the good, and help work with others to make what is good even greater, and work to resolve some of the challenges. It's part of a mutual benefit that goes beyond an individual neighborhood and makes our community even greater.
