Petroleum Products License

An annual license expires on January 31st.

This license applies to all individuals or entities who want to operate a gasoline station, self service or full service, within the City of Rockford. There are very specific requirements that must be adhered to before a license can be approved. See Code sections 9.111 through 9.116 for full details.

To obtain a license, complete the Petroleum Products/Gas Station License Application and return with a certificate of insurance, supporting documentation, and the appropriate license fee to the Payment Center at City Hall. The license will be issued upon passing a Fire Department inspection and approval of the application.

Compliance with all laws, ordinances, and regulations of the City of Rockford, including all building, zoning, and fire regulations as well as State of Illinois statutes applicable to such a licensed business or device, is mandatory.
