The City of Rockford worked with the residents and business-owners in the Kishwaukee Corridor to create a Kishwaukee Corridor Revitalization Plan. This plan, which covers the areas around Kishwaukee Street from the Chicago/Rockford International Airport to 3rd Street and the Whitman Street Interchange, is a comprehensive document that sets out specific land use changes, economic investment strategies, and transportation improvements that will improve the safety of the corridor for businesses and residents, and make the area more attractive and functional as a prime gateway into downtown and the center of Rockford's industrial activities.
